Movie Night Club

FAO – Yr 2 – 6 parents

Dear parents/carers,

Please can we make you aware about our Movie Night Club which runs every Monday, as this club is not like our normal after school clubs you are able to book for one week at a time depending on which film your child would like to watch. As this is not a club that you would block book the payments are set up in installments and appear on school money for a weekly payment. If this payment is removed from your child’s account then this will remove the option of booking onto film club for the rest of the term. Please ignore the notifications stating you owe £3.50 each week these will be removed once the club has finished at the end of term. If you know your child will not be attending any of the films and you would like this to be removed from your account completely then please contact the school office on either 01743 875020 or email

Kind regards

Wondering how you can help at home? Turn screen time into learning time!

Our website has recently been updated to give easy access to three excellent and key websites that we use in school to support learning across our curriculum: BugClub, Purple Mash and the Telford and Wrekin Torch.  To access these programmes, they can be found on the website under the children tab, and then ‘digital leaders learning zone’, or directly via this link here.  If you are unsure of what they are, information is provided as to how they can support different areas.  Better still, let your children show you!

Media club has now begun with Mr Ostermeyer on a Thursday, and the attendees will become the inaugural ‘digital leaders’ around school, tasked with creating tutorials for our website as well as videos and reports for our digital screens around school as part of ‘Oakmeadow TV’.  There are still 3 spaces up for grabs for years 4-6, so if your child is a budding technological-genius, or desires to be the next Ant and Dec, please get them to sign up at the main office!

Dear Parents,

We have been asked to support the training of a play therapy assistance puppy. The puppy’s owner is a parent at Oakmeadow, is an experienced teacher now studying to become a play therapist.

Betsy the puppy is a 12-week-old spaniel. She is already calm, friendly and follows basic obedience commands. She will be trained to assist children who are struggling with issues like anxiety, confidence, anger, post-traumatic stress disorder, attachment disorders, self-esteem, ADHD, bereavement and autism via interaction both with the her and the play therapist.

It helps the puppy if she can get as much early socialisation as possible with as many different children as possible. She may use Oakmeadow as her training ground for up to two years. During this time, she aims to teach all our children how to be safe around dogs, how to look after dogs and how to train dogs. All our pupils will have the opportunity to watch her grow up. Some pupils will also have the opportunity to work with her in small group and individual sessions.

In order to go ahead with this exciting project we will need to know if your child has any allergies to dogs or any phobias. Please email into

With any allergies or concerns. We are very excited about this opportunity and welcome Betsy to our Oakmeadow family.
